“Summer afternoon - Summer afternoon…the two most beautiful words in the English language.”  Henry James

First priority- enjoy the day. Whatever the weather, whatever your worries, find the reasons to love your day. Take care of yourself. What would it mean if you get out of the office early, really early? Leave clean- know what next week looks like and what you’re walking into on Monday- but take the time for yourself. What would you love to do?

Booked all day? What can you reschedule? In court all day? OK- that one’s tough. In that case, can you plan time off next week? Can you make the commitment not to work on the weekend? If you were mysteriously “disappeared” for a bit of extra time, would the consequences be dire?

Business not booming? Feeling like you don’t deserve time off? Balderdash. Time off, really off- is a different thing, and it will make you more successful going forward. Take the time and don’t use it to worry about work. Plenty of time to resume that on Monday, you can put it on your calendar to be sure you don’t forget to do it…

No problem? Something you don’t need me to ask you to do? Fantastic! Is there someone you know who might need some help in the area of fun? Make someone else’s summer day. Help someone else be responsibly irresponsible.

Fun can’t be optional and sometimes it makes sense to be intentional about having some. Don’t wait, today is a wonderful day to have a wonderful day.

So, that’s your mission, I know you’re up to it- and if you have a moment next week, I’d love to hear how it goes!

Cheers- Barbara
