Kicking off another Get Clients Now! ™ program for lawyers next Wed, the 18th. It’s a 2 part program:

  1. You start with 2 seminars where I do too much of the talking- by the end you understand how you want to market, choose from a menu of marketing techniques and marketing projects, and create a very specific marketing plan made up of projects (with deadlines) and daily activities, all aimed at achieving a goal you set for yourself.
  2. You get 4 weeks of group coaching and accountability. The marketing plan becomes your weekly scorecard. Each time we talk, you’ll review your actions- and get feedback, support and ideas from me and the folks in your specific coaching group. The seminar group will be divided into smaller coaching groups of 6-9 lawyers.

Everyone creates a plan customized to their preferences and needs at this point in time. Most of the time I do the program alongside my groups. Here’s what I’m thinking about for my OWN plan this session:

First- some projects:

  1. Business card revamp- I need to change the info and get the dang things in hand, I keep procrastinating.
  2. Contact management software update- need to update the actual software, but also set a goal of adding 10 people a week, I’ve let it slide again and I have a pile of contacts to work through.
  3. Complete the new (& much more visual) version of my Make Time for Marketing presentation & handouts- doing this in my spare time ain’t working. I need a deadline!

Then, daily/weekly activities:

  1. Have an in-person (up close and personal, yup) lunch, breakfast or coffee with a current or potential referral source weekly
  2. Contact 2 previous clients for an update conversation every day
  3. Send a note or card to someone weekly
  4. Connect with one group weekly re giving them my new improved (see project #3 above) presentation….
  5. Write for a half an hour daily (goal will be to get back into blogging over the 4 weeks of the program- posting and banking entries)
  6. Post 2 blogs weekly (might be cheating to see this as an entry, but I like having both #3 & #4 as goals, it works for me)
  7. Get serious and put 3 months worth of networking meetings on my calendar, schedule babysitter and attend at least 3 meetings a month

One of my favorite parts of the Get Clients Now! ™ program is that you also get to choose a permission for the duration. This takes some thought, but I believe I need to give myself a permission I thought I was over- the permission to not wait until something is perfect before doing it! Geez, once a perfectionist…

By the end of the second week, you’ll have identified your own projects, actions & permission. I’ll review them with you individually. Then we start the weekly coaching session, where you check in once a week with your group. At the end of the 4 weeks- it’s a wrap. You’ll have focused for 4 weeks, gotten some results, and learned a lot about what works and doesn’t work for you. It’s a great start.

Hope this answers the questions I’ve gotten about the program. CJ Hayden created it and wrote a great book with all the tools you’d need to do it yourself. It’s available on Amazon, can’t miss it, it’s called Get Clients Now! . Buy the book, and if you don’t want to be calling it shelfware in the future, sign up for my program. The next one starts February 18th.

I’ve made 15 shopping cart coupons available, code SOLO for the Wednesday, Feb 18th, program.  Input the coupon code when you check out and the entire course is $200. If you miss the coupon, it’s just $250.  Great price if you are ready to take action. The course will come again, the coupon may not.

Whether you choose my course or not- the program is based on a plan, focus, and consistency.  If that’s what you’re lacking, the Get Clients Now! approach is a great one to start with. Try the book, consider the program. Just move forward!
