Mastermind Groups
Why Join a Mastermind Group?
If you aren’t satisfied with the hours you’re spending at the office, the rate your practice is growing, or the support and encouragement you’re getting, mastermind groups are the answer. They are for:
Lawyers who are ready to gain control of their time. What is it you don’t have time for now? Marketing? Going to the gym? Staying connected with family and friends? Whether it’s business or personal activities, once you set your goals, you’ll learn how to clear time for them.
Lawyers who are focused on building their practices. Once your new time management techniques create marketing time on your calendar, you’ll design and prioritize marketing strategies. You will learn how to implement a systematic, focused marketing effort. The group will work together to overcome any fears or reluctance you might have in order to build confidence as you build your practice. If you need the proverbial "kick in the rear", that’s what you’ll get.
Lawyers who want an experienced sounding board. Your mastermind group is available for brainstorming, advice and support. You don’t have to think of lawyers to call for input. You don’t have to wait and work around schedules and calendars. You have a group to meet with nearly every week, and the members are already up-to-date on your goals and issues.

How It Works
As the group begins to work together, lawyers will learn and implement a key set of practice management essentials, focusing on areas the group prioritizes. The group will also bring successes and challenges to the call, and members will determine how the time is spent.
Various resources will be brought to the group. Each lawyer will be given a workbook to reinforce the practice management techniques that will help them reach their goals. Other resources might include worksheets, articles, and opportunities for a Q&A with a subject matter expert.
To start, the group will meet the first and third weeks of each month for an hour. Each meeting has learning components, so the group knows what to do to manage their practices better, and coaching components, so the group knows how to put the improvements into action. You’ll learn from each other’s experiences and you’ll be encouraged and held accountable to the commitments you make. During the second week of the month, you’ll be able to make appointments for one on one laser coaching with Barbara. At the heart of every group is the desire to achieve results.
An initial commitment of three months is requested. Three months is long enough to demonstrate the value of the group. Once the three months has passed, members can decide to drop and new members can be considered. The group can also decide to continue with Barbara or to create their own forum.
